SOCIAL JUSTICE: EMPOWERMENT
India's one of major
objective was to remove social melody of caste system. The caste system is
still Wide spread and remains deep rooted in the society especially in rural
areas, Indian Constitution has sought to denounce caste discrimination and
practice of untouchability, Introduction of reservations for SCS, STs, BCs, and
OBCs has created violent agitation for more reservations based on caste and
population, More communities are fighting for their inclusion under lower
castes and backward classes in order to enjoy the benefit of reservation,
Tamilnadu government has reserved 70% reservation for political gains.
Quota System has created
elites among targeted groups. The benefit barely trickling down to the real
deserving needy. Vested interests have mean time stymied attempts to base quota
on caste neutral economic criteria. Reserving basing such a political issue and
reflects divisive mind set of the people. A caste based reservation system no
longer serves the purpose of empowerment of the target group rather it may
trigger social conflicts as more and more groups raise demands for their
inclusion. Caste colour is being given even in minor incidents and
demonstrations were being stages without much provocation - fake atrocity cases
are increasing. Champions of abolition of Caste System argued against
reintroduction of caste in census in 2011. Caste makes a person inferior or
superior and determines an individual place and identity in society the work he
carry out.
Backward
classes - Reservations:
Backward class commission
has prepared a list of 2399 backward castes in India of which 837 had been
classified as the most backward. The second backward class commission using
1931 census data of British estimated that 54% of the total population
excluding SCs and STs belong to 3743 different castes and communities under
Backward Classes.
Dalit
Empowerment:
For centuries Dalits
suffered exploitation. But after independence, India aimed to improve their lot
through job reservations. The concept of empowerment through democracy and
economic opportunities created by economic reforms has created an astonishing
new phenomenon. The rise of Dalit millionaire - industrialists. Now they have
established Dalit Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mumbai.
Divisive
Forces:
It is reported that divisive
forces are functioning within India in order to break the unity of the country
with the help of outside countries for political and self gain. They are:
1. Maoist/Marxists-aligned
with China 2
2. Christian Evangelists -
aligned with the West
3. Jihadis - aligned with
Islamic fundamentalists.
A War against injustice is
misinterpreted by most of the followers of Islam as Jihadis. Their main aim is
to destroy the unity of India. They have plans to destroy business and economic
centres in India targeting Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Islam says
participation in Jihad is the duty of a Muslim when the fight is to uphold
justice.
Maoists have built a base of
Indian supporters and created a red corridor in Chattisgarh, Orrisa, Jharkhand
and north coastal Andhra with main aim of destruction of traditional tribal
organic links with mainstream of Indian culture. Money is pouring through
Christian evangelist missions and they are trying to convert poor families into
Christianity including the coastal areas of Kerala. Christians have a Strong
presence in Nagaland and for long have been supporting Naga separatists.
The ISI and Pakistani Jihadis
terrorism with other Islmaic terrorist organization is well known like the
attack on Taj hotel Bombay on 26.11.2008 in Mumbai. They have hateful projects
and are trying to use Naxal bases now for anti Indian activities (STRAT FOR)
and Naxalite leaders have pledged their support for Separatist movement in
India.
